  • Rongo Whakapā is the debut choreographic work of Ngāpuhi choreographer Brydie Colquhoun (and Ahipara local) one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most captivating Māori contemporary dance artists.

  • Meaning “sense of touch,” Rongo Whakapā, decolonises the performance space, inviting audiences to slow down and connect in a time of increasing disconnection.

  • In an intimate environment where six dancers respond to each other in a shifting space, audiences are invited to sit, stand or move around the performance space, witnessing entrancing movement, immersive sound design by Eden Mulholland, and distinctive spatial design by Rowan Pierce.

  • Supported by Far North Creative Communities, Creative New Zealand, Foundation North.
